THE UNTITLED SPARKLY VAMPIRE PLAY

First performance

BY ASHLEY MILNE

PHOTOGRAPHY BY LYDIA JOINER & REBECCA MCGREEVY

Izzy is trying to run a Twilight book club. Only her secret boyfriend, Edward Cullen, keeps rocking up to split apples in two, think about sucking her blood, and work through an identity crisis. But maybe, she’s realising that she could find actual, real love with someone actually real. Ashley Milne’s new show is an explosive reaction to compulsory heterosexuality, obsessive teenage girldom, and the feeling of being young and entirely alone.

KRIS HALLETT.

Robert’s cracking production, helped by performances in equal part angry and sympathetic, flies past.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

ALEXANDER RICOU.

The balance of humour and pain are handled with utter precision, and the nihilistic optimism of Generation Z is beautifully and candidly explored in Roberts’ production

Rating: 4 out of 5.

“I thoroughly enjoyed writing a climatic Rom- com inspired piece of music for Esther and Izzy’s love story in this gorgeous show.
