Caligulia and the sea

First performance

A fantastical, dramatic, gripping retelling of the tales of the infamous young Roman emperor, Caligula.

Caligula returns from Capri but is not content with being emperor, he wants to rule as a god. When he enters into a friendship with Neptune, he is left to question his relationships with friends, family, the empire, and himself.

BROADWAY WORLD.

Ultimately, Caligula and the Sea blew my expectations out of the water, pun fully intended. It is an incredibly well-crafted show that will leave you speechless in the best way possible… Everyone will adore Caligula – And isn’t that, in a strange way, what he wanted?

Rating: 5 out of 5.

EVERYTHING THEATRE.

Caligula And The Sea is… hugely impressive in both technical and staging… Hannah Bracegirdle’s sound remain impressive.

REWRITE THIS STORY.

The show’s use [of] … sound is particularly impressive, creating a haunting and evocative atmosphere that lingers long after the performance has ended.

“A beautiful show with many gorgeous aspects of puppetry and physical theatre. I was so lucky to write some music for this show. Even the Sound of the Underground Station from above even added an ominous aspect that I never expected to work so well.
