A messed up show for messed up times by Billie Collins

Alice is done with fast fashion. Ben can’t stop buying trainers. And Charlie just wants to sell out… one organ at a time. Peak Stuff presents three fast-paced, funny, f***ed-up stories, taking a deep-dive into consumer culture. In an age of thrifting, retail therapy, climate crisis and click and collect – how does ‘stuff’ define us? And do we know when to stop?

THE GUARDIAN.

A serious and impressive play…Collins writes beautifully in rhythms picked up, underscored and amplified by drummer Matthew Churcher, centre stage and bringing tremendous dynamic range to the performance

Rating: 4 out of 5.

THE STAGE.

A gripping, skilful performance…this darkly funny anthology is an ambitious and appealingly offbeat piece.

THEATRE SOUTH EAST.

They tell us that they are reinventing theatre for the next generation. I’m of a previous generation, witnessing their work today, and I can tell you, ThickSkin, that you have reinvented it for me. I cannot recommend this play highly enough. Simply unmissable.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

“I was lucky enough to work as the Sound Associate on this show. It was a joy and such a valuable process to be a part of. Not only did get to see up close how composers Neil Bettles and Matt Churcher concieved the music but to take their music on tour and make sure it was as brilliant as possible in each venue
