THE STAGE
The plot is just given a more female-centric spin, which starts off as a grotesque parody before darkening into an unsettling psychological drama…The production has a bruisingly knockabout, almost chaotic feel… enhanced by Hannah Bracegirdle’s pulsing sound, in a staging that powerfully repossesses the play.

Does it work? Oh, my Lord, yes it does!
I ❤ MANCHESTER
The strong sound design (by Hannah Bracegirdle) works perfectly to highlight this and builds the tense atmosphere whenever Petruchio speaks… Unseemly Women’s production of The Taming of The “Shrew” brings heart, laughs and realism to the original tale in this modern retelling.
“This process was an electric experience. It was wonderful to get to see Shakespeare be reinvented by a talent group of creatives
